INDUSTRIAL GREENERY INSPIRATION
A luxurious, modern and stylistic concept, the design drew inspiration from current fashion and interior design trends and combined the classic neutral tones of the venue with different textures and metallic copper elements to deliver a unique wedding style that was romantic, vivid and a clever way to save money on florals without sacrificing on style.
The shoot took place in the middle of the unspoilt countryside on the private grounds of the 16th century Barra Castle. A blend of contemporary and traditional, the Barn at Barra Castle is awash with exposed stone walls, timber beams and rustic wooden cladding.
The bridal styling was contemporary and fun. Ivory Grace bridal boutique provided three bridal gowns and three bridesmaid dresses for the shoot, that worked seamlessly with the venue and the overall styling of the shoot. Ghost London’s ‘Taylor‘ vintage inspired dress in dusty green and ‘Bella‘ satin slip dress in oyster, were the perfect accompaniment to Sassi Holford’s ‘Honor‘ ivory Italian corded lace gown, Charlotte Balbier’s satin ‘Harper‘ slip with slim beaded diamante belt and ‘Posy‘ floral two piece. The male model for the shoot, Bradley from Bradley Boyd Fitness, wore green Lovat check tweed and Cullens of Skye tartan highlandwear, provided by Georgian Dress Hire and dark green tailoring from ASOS.
To finish the looks, stunning loose curls and soft textured plait hairstyles were created by the talented Michelle Reid Hairdressing and Nikki Sheran MUA worked her magic with the makeup, taking my brief of vivid greens and bold coppers to create a dramatic yet fresh faced look on both female models.
The aisle was dressed with hard and soft ruscus and aspidistra garlands, candles and copper lanterns, which led the way down the aisle to the alter, where the groom awaited his bride. The top table was covered in simple white linen with a mixed greenery garland and copper dinnerware. The table was completed with lime wash chiavari chairs dressed with forest green organza sashes and a greenery adorned copper hoop, which was hung behind the bride and groom. A little personal touch was added to each place setting with the wooden place names provided by VM Bespoke.
The amazing cascading greenery bridal bouquet and rustic inspired bridesmaid bouquet were designed by award winning florist, Kim Dalglish. The explosion of flourishing greenry, consisting of a mix of tropical greenery, eucaluptus and treefern, created a natural and unfinished look which softened the industrial elements of the shoot.
Cakes by Kirsty created a modern white tiered wedding cake, complete with metallic copper leafing to the second bottom tier, to emulate the industrial styling of the shoot. Lace detailing mirrored the Italian corded lace elements of the Sassi Holford dress and the addition of white lustre cake pops with copper flower details and handmade pistachio and salted caramel macarons, provided by Almondine, added an element of fun and colour to the dessert table.
Thirsts were quenched by Tipple in a TukTuk’s mobile prosecco and gin bar and the stationery suite by EYI Love combined rich emerald greens with luxurious copper foiling to give the perfect blend of modern and luxury. Illumin8’s show stopping LED letters added a modern industrial vibe and Bella Balloons greenery tailed balloons, added a flirty and fun element to the industrial styling of the shoot. Furniture and linens were provided by Country Flavours of Alford, copper décor elements were provided by Lace Sixpence Weddings & Events and transport came in the form of ‘Archie’, a lovingly restored and beautifully appointed classic Volkswagen camper, provided by Deeside Classic Campers.
Abundant greenery with an industrial and modern edge.
