BARONIAL BOHEMIAN INSPIRATION
This inspiration shoot at Meldrum House Country Hotel and Golf Course in Oldmeldrum aimed to demonstrate how beautiful the juxtaposition of feminine and romantic bridal styling against a cooler traditional country manor backdrop can be.
An atmospheric and stylistic concept, the design drew inspiration from the venue’s 13th Century baronial manor house and the rolling countryside in the surrounding private estate. A colour palette of grey reflected the traditional stone architecture and was complimented with pink and red shades of burgundy, wine and mauve with a hint of antique gold, added to the baronial country manor concept.
The shoot mixed contrasting soft and industrial textures such as exposed stonework and chiffon with hints of bohemian styling such as lace, feathers and berries. Inspired by style-savvy women who aren’t afraid to go against tradition, the bridal styling was contemporary yet traditional. The dresses chosen to fit the concept were Charlotte Balbier’s cotton lace ‘Luna’, chantilly lace ‘Flynn‘ and mocha ‘Cressida and Araminta‘ top and skirt separates. To finish the look, we created a soft and dewy bridal make up look with a boho-chic edge through the use of earthy eye shadows paired with dramatic lips to echo the colours found in the decor and florals.
The result: a rich and chic style with a bohemian edge.
