2017 Wedding Trends: Microflorals

May 4, 2017 | BLOG

Without the sunshine of a summer wedding or the chance of snow of a winter wedding, what a spring wedding lacks in seasonal charm, it certainly makes up for in opportunity.

With the promise of new beginnings, milder temperatures, pastel colour palettes and an almost endless amount of florals…the styling opportunities for a spring wedding are endless!

Inspired by the incredible array of florals in bloom in spring, we have dreamt up the perfect spring microfloral wedding concept. A pretty combination of muted lilac, soft pink, cornflower blue and spring green.

How To Create This Look

Flowers

For bouquets and centrepieces, there are so many spring florals to choose from. For this concept, choose spring garden blooms such as bluebells, daisies, sweet peas, tulips, hyacinths, anemones and peonies and pair with plenty of lush greenery.

Stationery

For this look we love clean white stationery suites with dainty floral designs and romantic watercolour illustrations.

Decor

Think muted decor when it comes to styling this look. Florals can form the part of your decor with this trend so mix and match jars and bud vases filled to the brim with seasonal garden florals. For furniture, think limewash chiavari chairs and tables with crisp white linens and floral chair sashes and seat pads.

Outfits

For you and your bridal party, think fresh, floaty, colourful and fun dresses and a loose braided hairstyle dotted with florals, with a natural dewy makeup to complete the look. For the groom and groomsmen, ditch the dark coloured formalwear and opt instead for mid toned blue tailoring and mossy green tweet kilt outfits.

Catering

Crisp, fruity and refreshing cocktails are a great way to keep guests fuelled and you can match them to your colour palette. For your meal, work with the season for the freshest ingredients and the best menu choices for your guests. A traditional white fondant cake adorned with sugar flowers or painted with pretty blooms would also be perfect to accompany the trend.
